For years and years now, the increases it has imposed have been quite significant." The price of the green stamp crossed a symbolic threshold, rising from 1.39 euros to 1.52 euros. "To give you an idea, it's now practically more expensive than the price of a coffee at a counter in Paris."

For Arnaud de Blauwe, this trend calls into question the very sustainability of the mail service: "La Poste is now dragging mail around like a ball and chain. Year after year, traffic is decreasing, and mail-related revenue is decreasing. We have to compensate with extremely sharp increases. Perhaps one day the question will arise as to whether we will continue to sell stamps."
